It’s where we serve our extensive food menu every day from 10am to 10pm, catering for all tastes. We're here for everyone, from weary shoppers looking for that reviving glass of wine, through to families having a fun day out and professionals dropping in straight from work. Not only that, but we're also open until 2am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday making us the perfect pre-club destination. Directions from station are:
Exit the station, turn right onto Walnut tree close for about 50 meters, then left onto Bridge Street. Follow bridge street round to right, keeping the Friary shopping centre on you left. Cross over at the crossing here. Continue ahead, with the friary on your left and take the first left, past the Taxi Rank. This is North Street. Follow this road straight up the hill until you see TGI Fridays on your left. Cross over towards the entrance to TGI Friday’s, and the Slug and Lettuce is next to it, on the right.
The closest car park is York road car park. Exit the car park onto York road and turn left, heading past the Five and Lime bar on your right. At the end of York road turn left onto North Street. Follow it up the hill until you reach TGI Fridays on your left. We are next to TGI Friday’s on the right of their entrance.

Registration opens from 7.30pm and Speed Dating kicks off at 8pm prompt.
You're in for a treat as Wednesday night is 'fine wine time' at Slug and Lettuce, all wines are only £9.95 per bottle. Why not indulge yourself and make a night of it...
Our Speed Dating evenings are a great fun way to meet likeminded singles in a relaxed atmosphere. Just come along with an open mind and don't take it too seriously. You’ll have a great time and meet lots of single people and the chance to meet that someone special.
Speed Dating guests will be greeted by our Host and Icebreaker. On arrival our host will register you in to the event and give you a scorecard, a name badge and a pen, then invite you to have a drink at the bar to mingle with other guests.
Then the host will announce that the dating begins. Women will be seated, while men will rotate between tables every 3-4 minutes so you get to meet and chat to everyone at the event. After each date, guests mark on a scorecard whether they would like to see that person again.
The Speed Dating sessions finish between 9pm & 10pm, when guests are invited to stay on afterwards for drinks at the bar and further mingling.
Everyone takes their scorecards home with them at the end of the night to enter their ticks online on the Xfactor website and find out who they’ve matched with. You can then contact anyone you match with through our secure website. All our events are guaranteed! If you don't meet at least one person you'd like to see again, your next event is free.
