First ever Dodgeball Dating, Friday 24th March 06

Singles dating has suddenly become much more sporty and far more exciting! Xfactor and Sky Movies hosted their first ever Dodgeball Dating event Fri 24th March in Canary Wharf, London. Dodgeball Dating is exactly as it sounds – a singles event based around a game of Dodgeball.

Sky Movies and XfactorDates created the event after being inspired by the popularity of the film and the market for more adventurous and less awkward ways for single people to meet.

The first ever Dodgeball Dating took place at The Reebok Sports Club, Canary Wharf on Friday 24th March with further events taking place across the country in the summer.

At each event participants are taught how to play Dodgeball by the UK Dodgeball Association, initially players are split into small teams to learn the techniques. The team members are regularly rotated so that the players have plenty of chances to meet everyone. Once the participants have grasped the basic rules of Dodgeball a full game is played. Drinks follow in the bar – with the ice well and truly broken all the players will be encouraged to mingle and make the most of now having something in common with everyone present.

The event has been planned so that there are no awkward phone number requests – the next day players can log on to the XfactorDates website and tick the names of the people they would like to meet again. All the matches are put in touch so they can arrange to meet again.
