Peter and I met at your event on 31 Jan 06 at Jamie’s Bar in Soho. He was one of the last of the evening and we hit it off immediately (which was good as there were some interesting, er, characters there that night!). And we’re both chatterboxes which probably helps. Also both musicians, birthdays very near each other and…well, there has to be that extra sparkle doesn’t there? Which there was – and is – in spades. I confess I’d had a fair bit of wine that night (though Peter was uncharacteristically well-behaved, which I guess means he must’ve liked me!!!!) so the details are slightly vague but I remember liking what he was wearing (superficial? Moi?) and he’s lovely and tall which was also a plus point.

From there, we obviously matched on your site and he emailed first (as it should be!). We had our first date in Covent Garden where I work, which went brilliantly, and then our next in Greenwich. Funnily enough, it was during the day out in Greenwich that my other match called. I saw who it was and said to Peter ‘argh, it’s X – the other guy I matched with!’…to which he replied ‘don’t answer it…go out with me’. And we’ve been together ever since! We bought our first house last year and are enjoying being together and doing ‘housey’ things and sorting out the garden…but even more excitingly, we’re planning our wedding which is next July. He proposed while we were on holiday in Spain last year and I’m now the proud wearer of a beautiful trilogy diamond ring…but more importantly, have a fiancé I wouldn’t trade in for the world. We have so much in common and even started a jazz band which we’re currently getting off the ground.
